About this photo:
On our last day in Big Bend, my wife and I hiked the Lost Mines trail. It is a relatively short hike, but it goes up in elevation quite a bit! The views offered along this trail are amazing.
This photo was taken near the end of the trail. As I mentioned in previous photos, Big Bend had received a lot of rain in August. Everything was green and in bloom, and the desert was quite beautiful. If you get a chance to hike in Big Bend, try this trail! It's a hard hike to the top, but it's well worth it. I could have sat here for hours taking in the view.
The short focal length and small aperture give this a great depth of field. I ascended a small boulder to take this photo. This put the camera above the surrounding trees.
