This connection is very strong, and holds the cylinders together well. It is an interference fit, meaning that the hole spacing of the cylinders is slightly larger than the hole spacing of the 1x3, or 1x4 liftarms (depending on the type of clip used). It will take some force to make the connection, but once it's done, it will hold quite well. You will have a "double cylinder" that performs as well as a single long cylinder.
NOTE:
* If using the new style clips, you'll need to space the cylinders with one 2x2 brick (plus the 4 clips). The cylinders are then connected with 1x4 liftarms.
* If using the old style clips, you'll need to space the cylinders with one 2x2 plate (plus the 4 clips). The cylinders are then connected with 1x3 liftarms.
* If you're okay with modifying parts, then cut off the 1x1 plate from the clips. It will make a nice looking connection!
